Marsha MacIntyre

Owner & Manager @ Doggy Doos

About Me

I have owned and cared for dogs my whole life and always had several family pets of various species. We had a retired gundog springer called Grouse when I was younger and I loved taking him out for walks and caring for him. I had my first very own dog when I was 12 who was a timid rescue mongrel. She was quite a challenge as she came with several issues but I loved her more than anything and was devastated when she died. My next dog was Shady - a springer spaniel puppy who was also my first agility dog back in 2001. I also had a labrador, springerdor, GSD then Zazu - my first collie who I lost in April 2021 at the grand age of 16.5years.

When I left college I knew I wanted to work with dogs and did not like to leave my own dogs at home so started doing dog walking and took the dogs to my dads farm in St Catherines.

In 2006 I started Doggy Doos as one of the first dog day care centres in the UK and have been lucky enough to use the private farmland to grow the business.

Over the years I have studied various qualifications in dog behaviour, body language and various dog sports. I have done human and dog first aid. I am a kennel club agility judge and I compete with my own dogs at Agility and love going for long rural walks with lots of hills and mountains and lakes. Currently I have 5 dogs and 3 wonderful sons-Zephyr, Rupert & Sully

My Current Dogs

*Ollie is a blue merle collie who was 10 months old when he joined the pack in 2011. He retired from agility during covid and reached KC grade 6 in large.

*Zog is a liver & white cocker spaniel who was 8 months old when he joined the pack in 2017. Zog loves agility and now competes at champ Grade 7 in medium agility. He just loves being with me and puts so much enthusiasm into everything he does.

*Zuma is a blue roan working cocker. We got her as a puppy in 2019 from a brilliant breeder in Shropshire. She is a super family dog and such a fun loving dog to have. She also competes at agility grade 7.

*Zest is a border collie who we got as a puppy for christmas 2021 from a lovely breeder in Derbyshire. She is a blue and white tri. Zest is showing great potential in agility currently competing at grade 4. She is crazy and fun and wild but loved by all especially Sully.

*Zizzi is a black cocker spaniel. Zuma is her mum and she was born in March 2023. Zizzi is small and cute and so cuddley but also wild and loopy.

Amber Lewis

Day Care assistant-General Dogsbody

Amber first started doing work experience at Doggy Doos in September 2020. We soon realised she was such a valuable member of staff that she was offered a part time job as a day care assistant and soon she became a full time dog day care assistant, driving the van around the bath route. Amber has a particular love for labradors, spaniels and dachshunds but also adores every single dog at Doggy Doos. They are all perfect in her eyes even if they are causing trouble. She has two lovely and lively labradors of her own-Olive and Dora.

Claire Miflin

Part time Day Care Assistant-General Dogsbody

Following a career with the NHS as a paedeatric nurse, Claire was looking for a less stressful job and Doggy Doos was just the thing. She brings her calm, measured bedside manner to the job. She started working at Doggy Doos in November 2017 and works Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays collecting dogs around the BA1 and village areas. She loves being out with the dogs in all weather. Claire is owned by Sophie-springer spaniel, Mist-border collie and Nellie-mini dachshund. Claire enjoys horse riding and long walks with her family. Claire has done dog first aid and canine body language courses. Claire became a mum again to a gorgeous baby boy called Joshua at the end of 2020.

Emily Upton

Day Care Assistant-General Dogsbody

Emily joined the pack in June 2024. She works full time at Doggy Doos and is caring and kind with all the dogs. Emily is very out doorsy having travelled the world and worked with animals in several different countries. She would love to have her own chihuahua one day. But she is really good with all breeds large or small.

Charlie Youell

Part time Day Care assistant

Charlie started working at Doggy Doos in november 2023. Previously she ran her own dog walking company near bath. She has also volunteered at Bath Cats and Dogs home as a dog walker. She has extensive knowledge in many areas of dog behaviour and nutrition. Too many to list! If you can think of a dog related course you can bet shes done it! When she is not at Doggy Doos Charlie can be found walking or training her own 5 dogs who keep her on her toes. Charlie likes smaller breed dogs because you can then have more of them on your lap.
