Doggy Day Care

Exercise Regime

Walk-Rest-Play

Doggy Doos is situated on 117 acres of privately owned farm land in a rural location away from busy roads or residential areas. The facilities include 3 paddocks across 6 acres, fully secure which has been recently upgraded to higher and more secure fencing to meet DEFRA licensing requirements. The dogs are exercised all together as a group and get 1.5-2 hours in the morning and 1.5hours in the afternoon of being able to walk, run and play in the field. We can cater for young puppies to get the rest they need in our upstairs play room which has toys and extra enrichment activities. We have plenty of comfy beds for dogs to rest whenever they want to and areas where they can have quiet time. The building has recently been modernised and is also heated in the winter and air conditioned in summer.

Pick up & Drop off

Insured - Comfortable - Secure

Doggy Doos is located in the beautiful St Catherine's Valley just outside of Bath. It is accessed down narrow country lanes. Due to our planning permission and remote location we provide a pick up and drop off service included with the cost of day care. We have two transit vans which are equipped with secure, heavy duty cages to transport your dog in safety. The vans are also fitted with electric roof fans to keep the dogs cool on warm days and they are heated to keep the dogs warm on cold days. Each dog has its own water bowl in the van and a clean dry bed. The areas we cover for pick up can be seen on the map at the bottom of the page but please do call and check first.

What age dogs do we accept?

Puppies-Adult - Golden Oldies

We can accommodate most age or breed of dog as long as they are fit and healthy and capable of the exercise being at day care involves. All dogs must have completed their vaccinations at least 2 weeks proir to attending day care. Nellie the miniature dachshund was 12 weeks old when she started coming to day care. She would be carried around the field so she could still be involved without putting too much strain on her body. We do also have quiet rest areas so that younger or older dogs can have time to rest and get away from the other dogs if required. We do have older dogs who also enjoy day care. They learn to rest when needed and we take care that they do not over do it.

What times are we open?

AM - PM 9 - 5

The dogs are collected between 9-10.30am depending on what area you live. Because our staff are busy doing the pick ups we cannot accommodate owners to drop their dogs off. Most of our customers come to day care on a regular basis so they provide us with a key to the house so that we can collect the dog and the owner can go to work and carry on with their day knowing their dog will be collected and then returned tired and happy at the end of the day. It is sometimes possible to cater for special requested times for example if you are out of the house particularly early. Please bear in mind that each van has approximately 10 pick ups to complete each morning and there are occasionally unavoidable circumstances, such as traffic or refuse trucks, which may make the time which your dog is collected vary but we do endeavour to stick to the same times so that the dogs have more of a predictable routine and to reduce any time the dogs spend in the van wherever possible. All Dogs are dropped home between 3.45-5.15pm. I am afraid that we do not do half days for day care.

What facilities do we have?

Freedom-Space-Secure

When you arrive at Doggy Doos you will see the building surrounded by a yard with secure fencing and double gates. There is a yard where the vans are parked which is secure for un loading and re loading the dogs. There is two areas of the yard which are used for the main play area and extra play area. Doggy Doos has 3 paddocks across 6 acres, fully securely fenced which are used for exercising the dogs. Dogs are always supervised at all times and are allowed to explore the environment and play freely. We also have a further 110 acres on the farm which is occasionally used for walking the dogs with owners prior approval.
